Spring Break is over.. I do want to apologize for not writing during the previous week, however, life was busy and important things had to be taken care of, but nonetheless the week is over and the time has come to start the final phase, phase III of my workout creation.

This is turning things more dynamic, a good base of strength has been built and now it's time to test that strength dynamically in the weight room, and if my idea is correct, that should translate to the field in whatever sport your persuing!

I honestly have something to be appreciative about this week.  Warm weather.  Since I spent two years in South America, I have been turned into a fair weather runner, and it is not a good thing.  My lifting has been consistent and otherwise fantastic to my standards, but, my running has suffered and even just tonight playing some pickup soccer, I could feel it.  Strength I have, Endurance I have, but not in the cardio. It has been a bit of a hard lesson to learn, but I do need to overcome this weakness of fair weather running. We all have weakness, and the only way to get rid of weakness is to confront it head on and work on it.  In my coaching endeavors I have a saying with my athletes, "The best way to practice running, is to run." And it may sem like a stupid thing to say, but if you think about it, how often do we get caught up trying to do similar things to our goals in an effort to achieve them because the goal seems just slightly out of reach.  If you want a stronger chest, you bench press, if you want to get better grades in school, you study your textbooks. Plain and simple if you don't train specific to your goal and try your goal you wont accomplish it.

In my case, my weakness is training in poor uncomfortable conditions, so now I need to make my conditions uncomfortable and force myself to train, running, shooting, drills, games, and whatever else I need to do to reach my goals!

The Best Way to Practice Running, is to Run
