Many are coming home from spring break or have just gotten back or even just about to leave. I can honestly say in my life, "vacations" have been problematic, all they seem to do is just disrupt the gains, and interrupt the training schedule. All of the sudden you return from the rest or sudden change of climate, or even from the extra shifts at work, but to get to the point we have all encountered problems that have taken us away from the routine. Life happens and there's not much worth to dwell on it, the best thing to do is get back full swing, no excuses and pursue the coveted No days off!!! Every Day a Little Stronger
I planned this out. I am taking this week as a transition to move from one program to another.... let the muscles fully recover, eat a few things I have avoided and get ready for the pursuit of the new finish line. I've learned some new things, ideas to test and experience for myself. And here I give you all some food for thought, something that you might all like to add to your vault of programs.
I can't take credit for the idea.. This comes straight from Jim Stoppani, and his program HIIT 100's, I would recommend all to try out his site, www.jimstoppani.com. This guys provides solid research to back his programs and his articles up. A very good tool to have and learn from. The idea that he adds to a particular weight conditioning program is that of a restricted and progressive rest period reduction... taking less rest and moving more weight through reps. Using linear and opposing progression at the same time. This accomplishes something important that any athlete craves... lean mass gains, fat mass loss, and cardio conditioning. Time your rests... program a reduction in the time you rest in between sets and see the results of using some cardio while you lift... you will be surprised of how it will change your workouts!
I'm starting Stoppani's HIIT 100's workout. I will post my thoughts and gains from my use of the program... a new journey taking me closer to the goal!
