It all starts somewhere. In the backyard, at the park, with friends on the schoolyard playground, wherever.... The athletic journey of all the greatest athletes in history started at the most basic of levels in the most humble of places. There's no getting around it. These people did what they could with what they had and enjoyed the game or sport a little more than the rest.

Moving Forward

And little by little life begins to take up more time every day. Eventually people forget what they did on the playground and focus their time in other activities outside of physical fitness and sport. The difference between them and the rest of the world's population is that they lived life but didn't forget the love of the game. Life can be demanding, it can present difficulties and obstacles. You can't expect to pay the bills the first time you pick up the ball. But somehow they made it to the next level. In the United States most athletes go through college before they move on to professional sports. They have to maintain a certain grade average, they cannot receive any money for sports, they can't participate in advertising and despite all of this, they have the time to make practice every day and work towards the goal of reaching the professionals. As complicated as life can get, there is always something that can be done to enable athletic progression. Time is rarely a big enough excuse to not spend that 1 hour of the day dedicated to an athletic routine that takes you closer to a healthier stronger you. It all boils down to getting rid of the excuses and letting go of the complications to take control of life.
There are so many options out there that it's difficult to not find a routine or system that can fit into your schedule. It may be beneficial to have a gym membership, but it's not necessary. Lots of studies and systems have been developed to accommodate this "lack of time." But you know... I'm going to call it out. The issue isn't a lack of time, it is a inability to let go of the useless crap in our lives and substitute it for something worthwhile. Do you really need 1hr to eat lunch? does that TV show have to be watched now? You can't get up 30min earlier?
Moving forward takes sacrifice. Not everyone is strong enough to embrace this lifestyle. But it's not to say that they can't be, they choose not to be. Life is never too difficult too keep you from being a better person physically and mentally. Make the choice to take out the unimportant things that keep you from being the best that you can be. Then, work toward something you never thought you could do.
Being strong is a matter of taking your muscles out of their comfort zone and making them adapt to higher resistances than normal. This can be done through more repetitions, heavier weight, longer time under tension, higher intensity, and faster movement. Do Work and Move Forward, you can't get something from doing nothing!
Every Day... A Little Stronger
