Training is a means to an end. The end, is the goal that you are pursuing. Be it a better body, run a sub 5 second 40, bench 400lbs. lose 20lbs. There is always a goal in mind that motivates the body to the action of training. And as the saying goes there is more than one way to skin a cat.

One of the greatest things about this era is the availability of information on training and exercise. There are magazines, articles, people (like myself), and videos that are dedicating time and effort to put good information out to the public to inspire a healthier lifestyle. The bad part about this plethora of information is the difficulty to find a style or routine that is what will work for you. Now one of the most important parts to choosing a program is first knowing your goal. What exactly is it that you want to do? From there you can investigate the appropriate methods to reach that goal most efficiently.

Since I moved here to South America, I have been following a new diet program and honestly just trying to workout however I can with the lack of resources that I have at the moment. As we all know, diet is just as important as the workout itself. My brother had me read a book, Man 2.0: Engineering the Alpha. As I read the authors viewpoints and information, I decided to put myself to the test, make myself the subject and see if what the book had to say was true. I will be quite honest. I see a particularly grand idea developing within the fitness community concerning the idea of Intermittent Fasting (IF). The studies that are coming out and the benefits that are being found about IF is something that I myself am experiencing. Not only are you eating the right foods but you're allowing the body to fully metabolize and put to good use the nutrients that you ingest by fasting regularly. By utilizing the nutrients better, you then optimize hormones and build the body up from the cellular base. And when you look at the body, everything comes down to the efficiency of the cells at work. I personally with this diet have improved my physique muscle capacity. Though my workouts might now be top tier, when I put my body to the test player soccer or running, the energy levels and muscular reactions taking place are at a higher level than they were before.

I cannot wait to be able to get back to the gym, I feel like when I can start lifting again, the increase in muscle and power will soon follow. For the time being I have found a system that is producing proper results and my body is responding quite well.

The moral of this story is that you need to do the research. Find a diet and workout routine that will compliment what you want to do with yourself and bring you closer to your goals.  Work, Study, Rest and Play.

This is my own personal experience with the diet and ANYONE before starting a new diet or exercise program, you should first consult a licenced physician or fitness professional.
