The lifestyle we chose to live is not an easy one, and frankly it wouldn't be worth it if it were easy. It wouldn't be anything special if anyone could make the change in a day and forge a body and mind like the one we know exists, like others have shown exists. That being said, because of the struggle and effort put into it, there's no time to take a day off. Even our rest days must mean something. Every day we must become stronger. Even when the world seems to be against us in every way shape and form, the necessity to become stronger becomes even greater, the hard days are the days that harden our will and our resolve to continue forward. Never forget the benefits of overcoming greater challenges. Remember that the last rep is the most important, the end of the race is goal, the last word of that report, the final digit of the calculation. It's not over until it's perfect, and make no mistake... we will never reach perfection, because it can always get better!
Today seems to be a good day to be a runner... so the challenge I put out to you all is to put on the running shoes, find a nice stretch of road or a track and do an interval workout:
Warm up- Build ups and Drills
4x100m 1 min rest
2x 200m 1 min rest
1x400m (end)
Cool Down / Stretch
The focus of this workout is to build up your lactic threshold. Be sure to practice good technique while running and run at 60-70% your max speed (race pace). It would be a good idea to do a fairly heavy duty leg workout after this session to compliment the lactic threshold work and build some muscle! Get At It!
