Yesterday I was travelling with my wife through Santiago Central on my home from work. We were observing people and noticing some very interesting scenes that were occurring outside the bus at various stops and different locations on our way. As we discussed the evident lack of respect and morality being demonstrated by the general population, we came to a realization that we were depressing ourselves. Amidst all the talk of societies degradation and social collapse it put our minds in a very dark place. As we've seen in a popular meme, we didn't want to live on this planet anymore. It seemed for a minute that there was very little reason or hope to even want to try. We were questioning what good was left in the world, we questioned the need to even try and be decent people. It was a humbling yet awakening experience.
We caught ourselves! We returned to reality and realized the grand fallacy that we had committed. Though the scale we had realized our mistake was a greater one, it can be applied to ourselves individually and amongst a small group of friends or family.

Don't Fall Into the Trap

Even with all the faults that exist in the world, in our friends, family, and ourselves, it NEVER consumes us completely!
There is always room to improve, there is always a way to rise up from the darkest reaches of our lives. I know this is a little deeper than I normally go for my blogs, but last night was a humbling experience and I can't help but share it with you all. This is something to that if we can all realize, it can change us, and convince us to continually improve and to not be complacent with where we are at. I am a firm believer that there is always something more to accomplish, always a way to improve our place and self. Only with this realization can we overcome the world and it's mediocrity. That's what fitness, sport, health, and nutrition is about. Being more than just a standard human being, and inspiring those around us to follow suit.
The only thing that separates you from Elite Athleticism is time and dedication, and both are two things that you control. There's always enough time and dedication is something you must decide to have. So the challenge, the obligation of all of us going down this journey down a life of strength is to not fall into the trap of darkness and stupidity and Rise Above It.
It takes one step at a time, and each step is a step in the right direction that will not only help yourself, but also the people around you when you apply hard work and humility to your improvements! Be the change you want to see in the world. and make that change a better one.
Today is a good day to get out and do something fun. It's Saturday!!! Learn something, read something, catch up with some friends! Rest days don't have to be lazy days... Enjoy!
Every Day... A Little Stronger
